Welcome

Welcome! It's almost the middle of July - hope everyone is enjoying their summer! So far the weather has been pretty spectacular and the upcoming week is looking fairly good too. Hubby is trying to schedule a trip down to the Lake this week/weekend to open up the cottage, put in the docks, etc. so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that he can make it happen. As for me, I'll be heading down once all the dirty work is done. Until then, I'll stay put and keep experimenting with the BBQ. Stay cool! cooky

Create Your Own Cookbook

Create Your Own CookbookWith the new all-page recipes to use, I've gone through the cookbook , printed off a selection of must-tries , put each in it's own page protector and compiled it all it a big, fat, binder. Now, a few days before I head to the cottage, I'll gather together 2 Breakfasts, 2 Lunches, 2 Dinners (complete with sides) and 2 Desserts in a smaller binder and do up a grocery list for the weekend's menu. **Remember to take into consideration how many people you'll be serving (you may need to double some recipe ingredients) and always have an emergency stash on hand (cereal for breakfast, bread for sandwiches at lunch, dried pasta in the pantry for a quick dinner, etc.). . . . . .

Heart and SoulThis lovely novel by Maeve Binchy was chock full of characters (you might just need a reference list to keep up!) in and around a new heart clinic in Dublin. Clara Casey is the new director, with the huge responsiblity of not only setting up and running the clinic, but also dealing with a recent divorce and the busy, complicated lives of her 2 daughters . . . .
